The idea of home for Moon and Mars settlers takes shape. We are now only a few months away from the end of the “Extremo” (Extraterrestrial Expandable Module) project on which LEAD TECH srl is working on behalf of theItalian Space Agency. The project is continuing as planned to demonstrate a new patented technology for making expandable living modules. Compared with inflatable modules, the new expandable structures are more resilient and self-supporting even when not pressurized. In addition, they can be disassembled and reassembled in different configurations, as in a construction game, to adapt to changing needs at various stages of colonization.
